Residential Bi-fold gate
Maximize your parking space. Our Residential Bi-fold Gate is engineered specifically for driveways with limited depth or steep gradients. Featuring a smart 'concertina' folding mechanism, it reduces the swing radius by over 50% compared to standard gates. This compact design allows vehicles to park just inches from the gate line, solving the challenge of tight urban access.
Product Overview
The Residential Bi-fold Gate is a high-performance automated access solution specifically engineered for restricted driveways. It addresses the geometric limitations of urban housing, such as short driveway depth, steep gradients, and lack of side-room (run-back space).
Unlike a standard swing gate that requires a large radius to open, the Bi-fold gate consists of two leaves that fold back onto themselves in a "concertina" action. This reduces the swing arc by over 50%, allowing homeowners to park vehicles just inches from the gate line while keeping the driveway clear.
Key Engineering Features
The "Space Multiplier"
The folding mechanism reduces the swing radius by approximately 50% compared to a standard swing gate.Ideally suited for properties with short driveways. It allows you to park your car much closer to the gate without worrying about the leaves hitting your bumper when they open.
Trackless Operation
The gate hangs from the posts and does not touch the ground. There is no track or rail installed on the driveway. This preserves the beauty of your driveway pavers or concrete. It also eliminates the tripping hazard of a raised rail and prevents issues with dirt/stones clogging a track.
High-Speed Entry
Bi-fold gates open roughly 2x faster than traditional swing or sliding gates.Because the leaves fold as they move, they cover less distance. This means less time waiting in the street or rain for your gate to open, improving both convenience and security (less vulnerability to carjacking).
Solves the "Slope" Problem
Can be installed on driveways that slope upwards towards the house.A standard swing gate cannot open "uphill" (it would hit the ground). A sliding gate requires a level beam. A trackless bi-fold gate handles slopes easily because it hovers above the ground and requires very little back-space.
Material & Coating Technology
Engineered corrosion protection from core to topcoat.
Reinforced Aluminum / Steel Frame
Engineered using high-grade box sections to provide the optimal strength-to-weight ratio, allowing for rapid opening speeds without compromising structural security.
Gapless Folding Hinges
The proprietary hinge mechanism utilizes sealed bearings and an anti-pinch geometry to ensure safe, silent, and friction-free folding motion year after year.
Trackless Pivot System
A fully cantilevered design that eliminates the need for unsightly ground tracks, preventing dirt accumulation and trip hazards in the driveway.
Architectural Powder Coat
Applied electrostatically and cured at high temperatures, this premium finish creates a hard, weather-resistant shell that withstands rain, sun, and scratches.

Components & Accessories
Complete bill of materials ready for turnkey orders.
Gate Posts
Material: Usually thick-walled Aluminum ($100 \times 100\text{mm}$) or Steel wrapped in Aluminum cladding. Function: Supports the weight of the hanging leaves. Must be concreted deeply as there is no track to support the weight.
Gate Leaves / Panels
Configuration: Typically 2+2 (Two leaves folding to the left, two to the right). Main Frame: Aluminum profiles with reinforced corners.
Infill
Louvers: Angled slats for privacy but allowing airflow. Slats: Horizontal or vertical bars. Laser Cut: Decorative artistic sheets.
Rotating Hinge Kit
Post Hinge: Connects the first leaf to the post. Must contain heavy-duty bearings. Bi-fold Hinge (Middle Hinge): Connects the first leaf to the second leaf. It must allow flat folding.
Linkage System / Pantograph
Function: A rod or arm mechanism (usually located at the top or bottom of the gate). When the motor pushes the first leaf, this rod mechanically pulls the second leaf to fold it. No Track: This mechanism replaces the need for a floor track.
Linear Actuator
The most common. Sleek and mounts to the first leaf.
Articulated Arm
Used if the pillars are very wide (stone/brick columns).
Control Box
Contains the transformer, receiver for remotes, and logic board. Features: Soft-start (slow acceleration) to protect the hinges.
Safety Sensors
Photocells: Mounted on the posts. If a child or car breaks the beam, the gate re-opens immediately.
Magnetic Lock
Function: Holds the two leaves together when closed. Importance: Since bi-fold gates have "knees" (hinges), they can wobble in the wind. A maglock keeps them tight and secure.
Center Stop
A small rubber or metal mushroom stop screwed into the driveway center (optional but recommended for alignment).
WiFi Module / Smart Switch
Allows control via App (Tuya/SmartLife) or Voice (Alexa/Google).
