Product Overview

Retractable Gates, also known as Electric Folding Gates or Expandable Gates, are highly flexible security barriers used to control vehicle and pedestrian access at large entrances. Featuring a unique pantograph (accordion-style) mechanism, these gates can extend to cover wide openings and retract into a minimal footprint when not in use.

Most modern retractable gates are made from high-grade stainless steel or aluminum alloy and are powered by an intelligent motorized system. They are widely used in government agencies, schools, factories, and commercial estates due to their ease of installation (often requiring no ground tracks) and their ability to serve as a strong visual and physical deterrent.

Key Engineering Features

Space-Saving Design

Retracts fully when opened, occupying minimal space—ideal for narrow or restricted areas.

Adjustable Opening Width

Flexible extension allows one gate to fit different entrance widths.

Easy Installation

Modular structure with floor-track or trackless options for fast installation.

Enhanced Security

Scissor-style structure creates an effective physical barrier to control access.

Material & Coating Technology

Engineered corrosion protection from core to topcoat.

Aerospace Aluminum Alloy (6063-T5)

Extruded from high-strength industrial aluminum profiles with custom geometric reinforcing ribs. This lightweight yet rigid structure withstands wind loads without deformation.

Friction-Free Articulation

Every pantograph joint is fitted with wear-resistant PA66 bushings and stainless steel pins. Tested for over 1.0 million expansion cycles to ensure smooth, squeak-free operation.

Industrial TPR Wheels

Features heavy-duty wheels made from high-abrasion thermoplastic rubber. Designed to travel 300,000+ meters on abrasive asphalt/concrete surfaces without cracking.

Electrophoretic / Powder Finish

Surfaces undergo an advanced electrophoretic process or AkzoNobel powder coating. This provides a high-gloss, self-cleaning finish that resists oxidation and urban pollution.

Components & Accessories

Complete bill of materials ready for turnkey orders.

System Parts

Main Bar / Upright Column

The vertical tubes that form the main skeleton. usually made of Aluminum Alloy or Stainless Steel.

Cross Bar / Oblique Tube

The diagonal tubes that create the pantograph (diamond) shape, allowing the gate to fold.

Drive Wheel

Located under the motor head, usually made of heavy-duty rubber.

Driven Wheel / Auxiliary Wheel

Located under the gate body to support movement.

Plastic Connector / Bushing

High-strength plastic parts connecting the main and cross bars to reduce friction and noise.

Wind-proof Hook

Used in tracked gates to prevent the gate from tipping over during strong winds.

Head Unit / Chassis

The box at the front containing the motor and electronics.

Motor

The power source. often a Turbine Worm Motor.

Gearbox / Reducer

Transmits power from the motor to the wheels.

Manual Clutch

A mechanism operated by a special key.

Base Plate

The heavy metal base of the head unit to provide traction (especially for trackless gates).

Control Motherboard / PCB

The main circuit board that processes signals.

LED Rolling Display

The screen on the head unit displaying text like "Welcome", time, or date.

Remote Control / Transmitter

Handheld device with Open, Close, and Stop buttons.

Desktop Control Box

A wired control box usually placed in the security guard booth.

Magnetic Navigation Sensor / Hall Sensor

Sensors inside the head unit that detect magnets.

Navigation Magnet

Round magnets buried underground to guide the gate's path.

Deviation Correction System

Automatically adjusts wheel speed if the gate drifts off the magnetic line.

Track / Rail

Usually I-beam steel or square steel laid on the ground.

Limit Switch

Sensors (magnetic or mechanical) that tell the gate when to stop at the fully Open or fully Closed positions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Possible Causes: Magnet Issue: Some navigation magnets buried underground are missing or weak. Uneven Ground: The floor is uneven, causing one wheel to slip. Sensor Dirty: The magnetic sensors (Hall sensors) under the head unit are covered in mud/debris. Motor Imbalance: One motor is running faster than the other (requires adjustment on the control board).Solution: Clean the sensors first. If the problem persists, check the navigation magnets with a spare magnet.
