This project aims to provide high-level physical perimeter protection for a key public infrastructure in West Midlands, UK. The core objective is to establish a safety barrier integrating anti-climb, anti-cut, and high visibility features to prevent unauthorized entry into sensitive areas. The main engineering adopts the "358" high-density anti-climb welded mesh system, combined with customized double-swing security gates, ensuring area enclosure while balancing environmental aesthetics and long-term facility durability.
During construction, the installation team strictly followed municipal public facility perimeter and anti-climb standards. The 1.2 km fence system was laid out along the terrain. 180 sets of 60×60mm hot-dip galvanized square posts were firmly erected through deep buried foundations, ensuring the impact resistance of the overall structure. High-strength galvanized double-piece clamps were used to connect mesh and posts; this anti-tamper structure effectively avoids the risk of external man-made destruction. In terms of visual effect, the RAL6005 Moss Green finish allows the fence system to naturally blend with the surrounding vegetation in West Midlands, reducing the oppressive feel of security facilities. Meanwhile, the high transparency of the 358 mesh ensures unobstructed sightlines, facilitating real-time observation inside and outside the perimeter for security personnel or surveillance systems, achieving a balance of safety and functionality. The dual surface treatment of hot-dip galvanizing plus plastic coating ensures long-term weather resistance and low maintenance costs under the rainy British climate.
This project selected the 358 anti-climb welded mesh and matching square post system conforming to British BS standards. The system is renowned for its extremely small mesh size (76.2mm × 12.7mm), preventing fingers from passing through and making conventional cutting tools difficult to intervene, providing superior physical defense performance. The following are detailed technical specifications: The fencing system consists of welded mesh fence panels with a nominal height of 1.73 m. The mesh configuration complies with the 358 standard, featuring an aperture size of 12.7 mm × 76.2 mm and an approximate wire diameter of 4.0 mm, providing enhanced resistance to climbing and cutting. The supporting post system is fabricated from 60 mm × 60 mm square steel tubes and utilizes a galvanized double-piece anti-tamper clamp bar connection method to ensure secure panel fixation and structural integrity. Access points are equipped with double-swing security gates, each comprising two leaves with a single leaf width of 1.5 m, providing a clear opening width of 3.0 m. Gate hardware includes heavy-duty hinge brackets, anti-riot lock keeps, and drop bolts to ensure reliable mechanical performance and secure locking. All steel components are treated with a hot-dip galvanized coating, with an optional polyester powder coating in RAL 6005 (Moss Green) applied to enhance corrosion resistance and environmental compatibility.
